Our world is The Emperor’s New Clothes on steroids on a continuous loop. Everything we know and believe has been made up somewhere along the line; and it depends on where you were born, who you were born to, what you’ve been taught by those people as to what you know, believe or think you believe. Reality is individual perspective. There is no reality outside of perception.
We fight for what we believe, we preach about what we think, we draw a line in the sand for what we believe to be right, and embody what our histories have told us to. Religion, fashion, food, politics, what’s cool, what’s not cool, are all products of culture and environment.
How life-changing would it be for us to open our hearts and minds to the inclusion of other cultures, music, art, literature, creed, religion, politics, thoughts, interests, and ideas. If everyone spent just one minute every day considering a new or different thought process with the purpose of pursuing positive understanding and inclusion, what a grand world we could create. Always approach each situation with the possibility you may just be wrong about how you think about something or someone. Be brave in your attempt to absorb new approaches. Question everything and everyone with unapologetic and unthreatening enthusiasm, with humor, whimsy, curiosity, interest, and sincerity and through that discover your continually evolving unique and personal perception toward peace and balance in life. Draw your own conclusions. Do not just accept the norm without having first challenged that thought or idea. I think it might just catch on. After all we only know what we know… Sandy
