I realize I have thousands of readers from other countries, but unless you live under a rock and didn’t know, The United States of America is nearing the end of a crucial presidential election period culminating on November 8 with our leader for the next 4-8 years.
Wow, it’s been a real barn burner, folks! We have a lawyer from Chicago, former First Lady from Arkansas, Senator from New York, and Secretary of State from DC running on the liberal Democratic Party ticket against a quasi-conservative businessman from New York. They say if you can make it there, you can make it anywhere.
There has been so much mudslinging in this last year that, I don’t know about you, but we are all kind of struggling to not get sucked under by the resulting bottomless quicksand pit. Grab the rope and pull yourself out, I beg you!
People are cheering and chanting and finger-pointing for the most unseemly things to the point where I find myself embarrassed to be a part of the human condition altogether. I’m thinking to myself, wow, there seems to be an epidemic of Kool-Aid drinking going on lately. There’s nothing like mob mentality and a skewed sense of self-proclaimed moral flag waving going on. I keep expecting to hear the crowd in unison start shouting, “I know you are, but what am I?”
With all the problems in the world I just want somebody to keep us safe. We are closer and closer to a global nuclear war every day. Stunningly serious issues. The ones they keep fighting over are trivial bullshit compared to frying our children and grandchildren in a nuclear cleansing of deadly proportions, pursuit of power, unreasonable unimaginable evil and misdirected righteousness. Look outside yourself and quit drinking the dang Kool-Aid!
Please, God help the nation make the right decision. You know Rome, Egypt, France, Great Britain, etc were all great powers in the world at one time and all fell under the crush of disastrous leadership. There’s way more at stake than some unencrypted emails and some women being groped on an airplane. Yah, yah, yah we get it. Horrible horrible horrible. Yadda, yadda, yadda… People are losing their lives now, and will be losing their lives in the future and all many seem to care about is a fifth-grade debate over who was caught chewing gum in History class or cut class early to get a good seat on the fan bus to the basketball game.
If you are caught up in being caught up with being caught up, please put your emotions in a box, weigh the actual issues, figure out who you would want to represent you and your family at the Sunday potluck dinner down at the town rec hall. If you wouldn’t want them to represent you there, maybe you don’t want them to be your personal representative in Washington and in the world. This isn’t about who the biggest loser or winner is, It’s about pulling together for that almighty proverbial greater good. Nobody wins if everyone loses. Sort it out and vote your true conscious.
Good Lord. Prayers all around. Come on, America, get it together! … Sandy
